Capsule Suspension Formulations

CS technology marks a breakthrough in Pendimethalin formulation.

In a CS formulation, the pendimethalin molecules are encapsulated in a polymer coating and suspended in water.

The result is a solvent-free formulation that pours well and is stable in storage. In addition, it has no odour.

Even better, as the pendimethalin is encased, it is not freely available in solution and so dramatically reduces equipment staining.

Capsule Suspensions versus SC Formulations

This picture demonstrates the difference between Capsule Suspension and SC formulations.

When filtered, the larger capsules are separated from the water in the suspension. However, the freely available pendimethalin molecules dissolved within the SC can stain equipment that the formulation comes into contact with.

When magnified, Cinder shows what sets it apart from other pendimethalin formulations. In Cinder, the pendimethalin molecules are enclosed inside polymer coated capsules and suspended in water. In other formulations, organic solvents have to used to dissolve the pendimethalin and allow it to form a solution in the spray tank.
